A Day in New York with Ford Canada

Keep reading to find out how I met Tia Mowry in New York this year!

New York was the same as I left it. Just a little colder. I travelled to the city that never sleeps with fellow Toronto bloggers Jessica Lam and Natalie Ho

Our day started with getting to know each other over lunch with Melissa from Ford Canada. We dropped our luggage off at aptly named The Dream Hotel strolled over to the High Street on Hudson. We talked blogging and social media over our delicious lunches.

Stuffed with duck, I wobbled into the FordHub on the bottom floor of the Oculus. It played into my geekier side as we learned about the future of transportation in one of North America’s busiest cities. The interactive activation was definitely a must-visit

. We took a quick break and went back to our hotel. Me being extra as ever I had a mini photoshoot and completely changed my outfit before we set off again.

Later that evening we attended the Ford Life Hack Academy where we saw the star of the night the Ford EcoSport. The compact SUV was so cute! I hopped in the driver’s seat and was surprised. It felt way bigger than it looked on the outside. We strolled the event and I got to meet insta-yogi Jessamyn Stanley.

What you’ve been waiting for, here’s the tea on how I met Tia Mowry. After her talk with Deb Perelman of Smitten Kitchen, the girls and I escaped to the bathroom. When we left I saw Tia sneaking into the bathroom too. Classic me, I cracked a quick joke with her while on my way back to the event.

As we walked out to exit of the Life Hack Academy, there was an intention wall. I wrote out a positive intention for the year and hung it beside the hundreds of other ones.

What are your intentions this year? Let me know in the comments below.

The next morning we brunched at Citizens of Chelsea while we talked about the city. Being back in New York reminded me of why I fell in love with the city in the first place.

This post was made in partnership with Ford Canada. All opinions are of course my own.
